Therapy in La Habra, CA | Counselor Karla Hernández

If you are a mother in La Habra who has been getting through each day on fumes and telling everyone you are fine, I want you to know that this is a space where you do not have to say that. I am Karla Hernandez, a perinatal and postpartum therapist, and I work with mothers navigating the anxiety, depression, exhaustion, and identity loss that come with the territory of new motherhood, at any stage of the journey.

La Habra is a family-centered community on the border of Los Angeles and Orange counties, a city with deep roots and a strong Latino identity, where neighborhoods like Westridge, La Habra South, and the areas near Craig Regional Park are home to families who have been here for generations and families who are just getting started. It is a community where the expectation to show up strong for your family is deeply embedded, where asking for help can feel like admitting you cannot handle what everyone else seems to handle just fine. That story is not true. And it is exactly what makes postpartum so isolating for so many mothers in cities like La Habra.

I offer virtual therapy for mothers throughout north Orange County and across California, which means specialized perinatal and postpartum support is available to you right where you are, without having to cross a county line to find a therapist who actually understands what you are going through.

Perinatal and postpartum therapy

The postpartum period can feel like a paradox: you're in love with your baby, but also grieving your old self. In La Habra, I help women name and navigate these contradictions with compassion. Therapy gives you space to integrate your new identity as a mother while staying connected to who you've always been.

Postpartum depression

You might find yourself crying out of nowhere, or feeling numb when you thought you'd feel joy. Postpartum depression isn't a personal failure, it's more common than you think, and it deserves care. In our sessions, you'll find a safe space to process, feel, and heal at your own pace.

Pregnancy therapy

Pregnancy isn't always glowing skin and gender reveals. Sometimes it's fear, loss, or overwhelm. In La Habra, I offer pregnancy therapy for women navigating this tender season with honesty and support. Together, we'll create space for all your feelings, even the complicated ones.

Postpartum anxiety

If your mind is racing and you can't relax even when the baby sleeps, you might be experiencing postpartum anxiety. I help new moms in La Habra untangle the constant worries, intrusive thoughts, and nervous system overload that can follow birth.

Postpartum PTSD

Birth doesn't always go as planned. If you're feeling haunted by what happened during delivery or after you’re not alone. I offer a trauma-informed space where you can process what your body and mind are still holding onto.

Birth trauma

Even medically "successful" births can leave emotional scars. If you left the hospital feeling invisible, dismissed, or hurt, your experience matters. I help women in La Habra process and heal from birth trauma without minimization or shame.

Pregnancy loss

Grief after pregnancy loss can feel invisible to the outside world. Whether your loss was recent or years ago, I offer a space for that grief to be seen, honored, and held. Your story deserves time and care.

Postpartum rage

Rage can feel scary but it’s also a sign you’ve been running on empty. In postpartum rage therapy, we help you refill that emotional tank. With somatic tools, nervous system care, and a lot of compassion, you’ll learn how to respond rather than explode.

I serve women in La Habra, CA and surrounding areas

Whether you're located in La Habra Heights, Brea, Fullerton, or anywhere in north Orange County, virtual therapy makes support feel close, no matter your zip code. I work with women all across the area who are looking for a space to heal, reflect, and breathe again.

  • Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
